The LAN Administrator Senior position for King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) is part of a collaborative team of 11 other technicians tasked with providing a broad range of IT systems support for the entire KCSO and AFIS regional partner agencies, such as supporting Sheriff's Office & partner agency desktops, laptops, smartphones, printers, and servers at the core Precincts (Burien, Maple Valley, and Sammamish) as well as Metro and Sound Transit Police. These positions will focus on Account Management, employee On-boarding and Off-boarding, Asset Tracking, Ordering of IT equipment, managing quotes, and purchase requests.Requirements
• All candidates who successfully meet the selection criteria and testing will be required to complete a comprehensive background investigation, including a polygraph examination.• Flexibility to travel to various locations in King County, WA.Qualifications
Must possess a good knowledge of information systems, processes, and computer technology principles:Understanding of project management techniques and principles.Advanced knowledge of information technology systems, principles, and techniques.Demonstrated ability to develop/manage timelines and handle multiple competing priorities.Interpreting and implementing technology policies.Evaluating and integrating new technologies.Strong technical writing and documentation experience writing SOPs.Advanced knowledge of operating systems, network protocols, configurations, and automation/scripting.Experience with various Microsoft systems, and applications such as: Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Office365, SQL, Active Directory, Fail-Over Clusters, Hyper-V, and/or IIS.Knowledge of information systems security principles/practices and disaster recovery processes.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to a wide range of individuals, including customers with various degrees of technical understanding.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a variety of team settings.Excellent customer service, problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.The most competitive candidate will have the following additional, desirable qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.Microsoft certifications related to server administration and/or infrastructure.Security certifications, such as CISSP, CCNA Security, CEH, Security+, etc.Experience with CJIS policy audits and compliance.Experience with configuring and administering Windows SQL Databases and Clustering.Understanding and experience with encryption protocols and authentication mechanisms (i.e., public and private keys, digital certificates, etc.).Experience with developing and scripting to automate workflows.Familiarity with supporting web APIs, interfaces, and protocols.Experience working in the public sector.Location
