Role: IT Asset Management (ITAM) Head, Sr. Director
The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Sr. Director is responsible for the daily and long-term operational management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization. The ITAM Director manages, controls, and protects the organization’s IT assets (i.e., hardware) throughout their life cycle, from acquisition through final disposition. In addition, the ITAM Director contributes to the designs, development, and implementation of the organization’s asset management strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees lifecycle asset management tasks, projects, activities and engagements for the program.
Serves as an IT asset management subject matter expert.
Extensive experience with software management and desktop remediation.
Works with leadership to develop and enhance lifecycle asset management strategy, company policies and processes that align with the programs and customer’s business objectives.
Analyzes new and complex lifecycle asset management-related problems and creates innovative solutions that address schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management.
Contributes to the planning and implements IT hardware/software asset life cycle strategy.
Manages tracking of acquisition, deployment, utilization, security, and final disposition of IT assets.
Supports ITAM systems analysis as well as provides subject matter expertise for long and short-range plans for lifecycle asset management related application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities.
Assists in the development of and implements effective procedures and processes for accurately tracking and accounting for IT assets through the asset lifecycle.
Supports optimization, usage and cost of IT hardware & Software deployments.
Contributes to the development of processes and procedures to continually enhance IT asset data integrity and compliance.
Drives process improvements with Lifecycle Asset Management best practices and automation.
Manages a team of ITAM product owners and analysts.
Develops and presents IT Asset Management metrics, visualizations and reports to leadership.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field is required, as is 7-10 years direct experience in IT Asset Management.
Must have experience with asset management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, SNOW, etc.).
Must have professional certification (e.g., CHAMP, CITAM).
ITIL v4 Foundation certification preferred.
Experience in IT procurement and Project Management are a plus.
Must be a problem solver and innovator.
Must possess strong computer skills – expert in Power BI to analyze large volumes of data.
Experience with statistical analysis software a plus.
Fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to follow process and demonstrate high degree of accuracy/quality.
Strong interpersonal skills required; leadership skills desirable.
Ability to demonstrate cross-cultural effectiveness and capability of driving change.
Ability to see structure and bring order to undefined (or poorly defined) processes, as well as develop and implement processes, are a necessity.
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated (personal initiative).
Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and be able to handle pressure. Prefer candidates with demonstrated experience in analyzing and presenting data to management.
