POSITION: GROUP SALES MANAGER,DEPARTMENT: SALES & CATERINGREPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF SALES & MARKETING
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the establishment of new relationships while maintaining existing relationships. To meet or exceed group revenue room and banquet goals as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Solicit existing group accounts for repeat business
Solicit and book new group business for hotel based on deployment of office
Handle all leads, phone calls, and correspondence on a timely basis
Be creative and unique and stand out in the marketplace in a very positive manner while representing the hotel to the clients, community, and industry
Entertain clients and conduct site inspections as indicated by the Weekly/Monthly activity goals
Prospect & solicit and conduct outside sales calls on various accounts to expand account base.
Trace calls in Delphi to existing accounts on a timely basis.
Responds to customers inquiries and negotiates contracts with customers
Establish familiarization with competition and understand key selling techniques when competing for same groups
Participate in Sales trips/missions, sales blitzes and Trade Shows as indicated
Re-book group and follow-up with customers by sending a personalized thank you
Have a working knowledge of the maintenance and operating procedures of all departmental equipment.
Make progress in your own personal growth development plan. Have clear-cut objectives.
Handle walk-ins and inquiries for the hotel within or outside of assigned market
Ensure coverage of the Sales & Catering office to meet client demands
Promote good community relations through membership and active participation in industry and community committees
Be able to write effectively and speak clearly and concisely
Job Content:
Meet monthly booking goals, including group and banquet revenue.
Attend weekly sales meetings and be prepared to actively participate.
Communicate all account information to the appropriate departments via prescribed tools.
Execute additional projects as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Prepare weekly / monthly activity reports for the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 5 years of sales and marketing experience in a luxury hotel environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Proven sales skills.
Relevant sales or hospitality degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of the competitive market.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
