Postdoctoral Positions in Evolution:
The Martin Fish Speciation Lab at the University of California, Berkeley, is inviting applications for two postdoctoral positions in the Department of Integrative Biology and the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology. The positions involve conducting genomic, functional, and developmental studies on adaptive phenotypes in a radiation of trophic specialist pupfishes. The research will focus on understanding the rare origins of adaptive radiation and the evolution of novel niches in Caribbean environments.Designation:
Postdoctoral ResearchersResearch Area:
Evolution, Genomics, Development, Trophic Adaptation, Craniofacial Morphology, PupfishesLocation:
University of California, Berkeley, USAMinimum Requirements:Ph.D. or equivalent degree in biology, evolution, genetics, development, bioinformatics, or a related field.Strong publication record based on dissertation work.Specific expertise in population genomics, functional genetics (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9), or craniofacial development.Job Description:Multi-year positions with an initial 24-month appointment and the possibility of renewal for three more years.Opportunities for fieldwork in Mexico (previous experience not required).Research funded by NIH NIDCR R01 and NSF CAREER grants.Potential projects include genomic characterization of adaptive variants, validation of variants through developmental approaches, and connecting adaptive variants to craniofacial morphology and fitness landscapes in the wild. How to Apply:
Interested candidates should submit a cover letter detailing their interest and relevant experience, along with their CV and contact information for three references, to Chris Martin at chmartin@berkeley.edu.Last Date for Apply:
Applications will be reviewed starting two weeks after this posting and will remain open until filled.Contact:
