The Azure Cloud Engineer provides strategic cloud architecture and engineering leadership and develops and implements industry best practice solutions for access, security, and reliability. They are responsible for anticipating the growing needs and emerging opportunities in the technical space and creating or spearheading efforts to meet them. An outstanding Azure Cloud Engineer should be able to unravel complex issues, drive innovation, and influence performance and delivery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Automates, documents, shares, educates, delegates, and improves processes. Build prototypes of potential features. Creates conceptual and detailed technical design documents and standards. Enhances automation of applications, systems, and platforms and identifies opportunities for streamlining, and continuous process improvement. Applies knowledge to practical and sustainable applications and capabilities. Contributes, interprets, and communicates enterprise, technical, project, and operational strategies to the team. Ensures that proposed and existing systems are aligned with organizational standards, goals, and objectives. Tests and resolves problems, performs root cause analysis, identifies gaps, recommends solutions and preventative measures, and leads team members to solution delivery plans. Promotes and supports a culture of compliance, risk avoidance/mitigation, and corporate accountability. Uses subject matter expertise to support software engineering team. Presents technical designs and solutions to executives, management, and other audiences to gain consensus and/or project approval. Plans, roadmaps, and owns the cloud architecture. Maintains a strong security posture in infrastructure and application deployments and development environments. Stays ahead of new cloud technologies and offerings; resolves how to integrate into existing architectures. Mentors technical team members across different teams about cloud standard processes, including training and demos; educates new-to-cloud team members. Develops and document standards and engineering best practices to deliver higher quality and scalable solutions. Resolves complex issues in creative and effective ways. Provisions resources and applications. Integrates systems including SQL, NoSQL dbs, and Messaging tools with landing zones and platform infrastructure. Recommended Education and Experience: Minimum three years’ experience in cloud infrastructure or architecture design. Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Knowledge of Azure Networking, Azure Frontdoor, GTM, CDN and Firewall capabilities. Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud Design patterns and best practices. Experience working with Landing zones for standardized Identity, Access, Management, Monitoring, Deployment. Experience working with SQL and NOSQL (Cosmos, Mongo) databases. Proven track record of creating solutions in a collaborative environment. Demonstrable ability to understand a complex environment, and determine the needs, vulnerabilities, and opportunities. Ability to easily explain complex technical solutions in laymen’s terms. Strong focus on collaboration, education, and knowledge development. Strong oral and written communication skills to stakeholders at all levels. Aptitude for managing multiple complex networks. Knowledge of Information Security best practices & principles (certificates, encryption, etc.). Able to take a big picture view of the entire environment, including budgeting, licensing, business needs, and growth opportunities. Competitive salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $110,000 to $125,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
