Then we have a great opportunity for you to join our growing team as a Cybersecurity Engineer II in McLean, VA!As a Cybersecurity Engineer II, you will:Join a leading company with over 40 years in the industry.Join a team of dedicated professionals who care about the quality of our product.Be a part of an empowered accountability culture where each employee-owner has a meaningful stake in the future success and growth of the company.Receive a robust benefits package that includes our Employee Stock Ownership Plan!This position is a 100% on-site role.A week in the life of a Cybersecurity Engineer II:Participate in software and systems engineering and software systems research to develop new capabilities, ensuring cybersecurity is fully integrated.Conduct comprehensive technology research to evaluate potential vulnerabilities in cyberspace systems.Design, develop, test, and evaluate information system security throughout the systems development life cycle.Test, implement, deploy, maintain, and administer the infrastructure hardware and software and conduct risk assessment and provide recommendations for application design and accreditation including ATO and eMASS.Be responsible for the full range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research.Participate in the design and development of new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information SystemsSecret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance (US citizenship required)Security+ CE certifiedAt least 3+ (three) years of experience in:Configuring, testing, maintaining, and upgrading information system(s) software and hardware to comply with Department of Defense (DoD) IA requirements and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)Managing accounts, network rights, and access to DoD systems and equipmentVulnerability managementDevelopment of IA artifacts and documentationFacilitation of IA implementation, review and analysis of Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentationSupport for Information System Security Officer (ISSO) duties.Founded in 1975, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States.
