As an employee of USC, you will be a part of a world-class research university and a member of the "Trojan Family," which is comprised of the faculty, students, and staff that make the university what it is.The Center for Genetic Epidemiology within the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at USC invites applications for a full-time clinical (non-tenure track) assistant professor level position. The successful candidate is expected to bring or develop an externally funded research program in genetic or molecular epidemiology. Current areas of research activity include studies of genetic susceptibility, biomarkers, metabolomics, and the microbiome as they relate to health disparities for common chronic diseases and phenotypes including cancer and metabolic diseases such as diabetes. Expertise in genomic analysis and in the initiation of population-based resources for studies of the molecular and genetic basis of disease is desired.The Center for Genetic Epidemiology is closely linked with the Departments of Population and Public Health Sciences, Translational Genomics, and Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. These departments offer opportunities for a wide range of research collaborations, leadership roles, teaching, and mentoring of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.Candidates should have a demonstrated publication and funding record and leadership within the field of genetic population-based research and molecular epidemiology commensurate with the stage of their career.
