Join a team that values Safety, Servant Leadership, Quality Service, Innovation, Continuous Improvement, Fairness, and Profit with a Purpose.OverviewThe Director of Safety is primarily responsible for assisting Branch Managers, Regional Directors, and the Senior Team in developing, maintaining, and implementing Barnhart’s risk-based safety programs. The Director of Safety is a supportive role dedicated to providing guidance around operational risk management; management of injuries; assisting in investigations and interacting with customers as needed.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Help with operational risk management that is consistent with company Mission Statement and Core Values.Assist branches in managing injury cases.Interface with medical providers.Manage the company's IR and EMR.Maintain and timely report all company safety metrics.Oversee all aspects of safety systems, including:

SSH&E Manual with all associated programs.Incident reporting and management systems.Quality programs for both ISO 45001 and 14001.

Lead investigative teams on incidents of significant personal injury, property damage, or near-miss situations.Assist branch management with customer issues regarding safety and quality situations, which may require writing detailed responses or interfacing with key customers.Ensure that all necessary third-party safety entities, like ISN, are current and adequately managed.Accountability - Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions.Adaptability - Ability to adapt to change in the workplace and needs of our branches.Business Acumen - Ability to understand how decisions related to safety and quality impact profitability of branches and company.Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.Communication, Written - Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely.Diversity Oriented - Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.Ethical - Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.Interpersonal - Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.Leadership - Ability to influence others to perform their jobs effectively.
