This is a key position that is the initial point of contact for timber sales-related documents and financial records within the Olympic region’s timber sales program, including but not limited to the preparation and review of timber sale documents and contracts, invoicing and processing of timber sale payments, timber sale record keeping, and coordination with DNR staff and timber sale purchasers. This position works with Olympic Region’s timber sale staff to prepare the region’s timber sales for approval and auction. This position also provides contract administrative support during timber sale compliance and manages timber sale finances for the agency and the trust beneficiaries. This position is responsible for the timely submission of complete and detailed invoices/receipts for purchases made on behalf of the Department and for facilitating the timber sale contracts, which will include obtaining signatures, processing contract extensions or amendments, and maintaining official records.Responsibilities:Prepare and process timber sale documents for review, advertisement, and auction.Invoice and process payments of timber sales.Facilitate timber sale contracts; create/edit documents, obtain signatures, and maintain records.Coordinate with timber sale staff, purchasers, and division staff.Required Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree involving major study in business administration, public administration, business law, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a closely allied field AND one year of experience in negotiating, administering, or terminating contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analysis, contract compliance administration, or natural resource business or public administration field involving contract management; OR a combination of education and/or experience equivalent. A law degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Washington State Bar Association may be substituted for the experience and education.Experience with contracts terminology and development; contracts practices and procedures.Advanced level experience in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office, including Excel spreadsheets, and Adobe Products.Experience organizing, prioritizing, and working within tight schedules and timelines with attention to detail.Ability to write clearly and effectively; interpret contract terms, requirements, and conditions; represent the agency in coordination and negotiation with other governmental agencies and private industry; recognize desirable contract terms and provisions; identify areas and incidents of non-compliance with existing contracts; exhibit strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Demonstrate positive customer service skills.
