GENERAL DESCRIPTION:This position is responsible for maintaining and improving the state accreditation process which is designed to increase district and school capacity to increase student achievement, and to ensure adherence to Wyoming statute.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.Develop and implement processes and protocols for student safety with an emphasis on crisis management planning.Coordinate and participate in initiatives related to at-risk students, with emphasis on attendance, student engagement, and relationships.Develop, coordinate, and participate in processes related to the District Assessment System.Coordinate and participate in initiatives related to dropout prevention and recovery.Participate in accreditation peer reviews, as well as the review of annual evidence submitted by districts for accreditation.Serve as the primary contact related to Alternative Schools applications and questions.Serve as a nondiscrimination representative for the WDE.Other duties as assigned.

PREFERENCES:Preference may be given to applicants with experience as a classroom teacher or school administrator.

KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of the state fiscal and budget process.Knowledge of statewide assessment and accountability systems, practices, and standards.Knowledge of evidence-based practices in district and school improvement.Knowledge of interpersonal communications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:

Bachelor's Degree (typically in Education)Experience:

1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Education Program Specialist.OREducation & Experience Substitution:

4-6 years of progressive work experience (typically in Education or Instruction) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Education Program Specialist.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

None

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Typical office environment.
