Job Profile
The bank is searching for a
Senior Accounting Associate (Retail Bank)
who will have dynamic responsibilities associated with Capital One’s month-end closing and financial reporting processes, helping to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close and financial reporting for our growth-oriented organization.
Assist in the compilation of reports and analysis to support management review of financial results.
Work with an outstanding team to identify issues and collaborate on recommended solutions.
Education Level
Bachelor’s Degree
in Accounting or Finance, or military experience
Work Experience
At least 1 year of accounting, finance, or audit experience
At least 1 year of experience in banking or reconciliation
At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft Excel
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with leading the team by providing regular feedback to associates to outline responsibilities, strengths, and development areas.
Ensure accounting practices and documentation procedures are performed following accounting and governance policies and procedures.
Participate in key corporate projects such as system upgrades, enhancements, or process improvements.
Perform monthly analysis and reporting of financial performance, including preparation of monthly commentary for stakeholders and management within necessary deadlines.
Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations, including documentation and presentation of results to management and senior leadership.
Provide ad hoc analysis to management.
Respond to requests from other departments and perform research.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ year of project management experience.
1+ years of experience with PeopleSoft general ledger.
2+ years of accounting, finance, or audit experience.
2+ years of experience in banking or reconciliation.
