You will collaborate with an international, cross-functional team focused on driving superior technical solutions that maximize customer uptime and operating efficiency.Job SummaryPACCAR’s Embedded Engineering department has an opening for a Control Systems Engineer. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop industry-leading solutions for the medium- and heavy-duty truck industry.Job Functions / ResponsibilitiesDesign electrical and electronic systems and architecture for next-generation heavy-duty commercial trucks.Analyze system needs and requirements and create system architecture designs.Integrate a variety of subsystems into vehicle electrical/electronic network architecture.Collaborate with multiple suppliers to develop, design, and maintain in-vehicle network communications.Develop and document engineering specifications for new vehicle control functions, including autonomous vehicles.Support test organization in the identification and resolution of design issues.Provide interface documentation to wiring design, software architect(s), and other engineering design groups.Lead and participate in scrum teams to develop high-quality electronic system designs.Keep current with emerging industry trends in automotive/commercial vehicle systems.Up to 10% travel (domestic and international).Required Qualifications & SkillsB.S. in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree.2+ years of design experience in automotive or commercial vehicle electrical systems.Experience in the design and application of automotive electronic control modules.Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMaster’s degree and/or Professional Engineer license.Experience with automotive or commercial vehicle networks, such as CAN.Solid understanding of Six Sigma disciplines and tools.Knowledge of ISO 26262 and ASPICE practices.Proficiency using Requirements Management tools and Systems Engineering tools.Experience using MATLAB/Simulink or IBM Rational tools is a plus.Engineering knowledge of heavy-duty commercial truck systems and regulations.Able to work in a team environment.Why work for PACCAR?Global Fortune 500 Company with a wide array of growth and development opportunities.Work alongside experienced colleagues recognized as experts in their fields.Support and design the commercial vehicles of the future.As a U.S. PACCAR employee, you have a full range of benefit options including:401k with up to a 5% company match.Fully funded pension plan.Comprehensive paid time off.Tuition reimbursement for continued education.Medical, dental, and vision plans.Additional Job Board InformationThe salary range for the Control Systems Engineer position is $75,100 - $112,300 annually.
