Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our Module Assembly & Test (MAT) team as a Section Manager based out of our Manhattan Beach, California campus. The MA&T department handles all operations from kitting through final screens of complex microelectronic modules. Processes include: component attach using conductive/non-conductive epoxy, wire and ribbon bonding, eutectic mount, laser sealing, seam sealing, RF & DC Tune & Test, and MIL-STD-883 screens.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels. As Section Manager you will be primarily responsible for leading a team of talented engineers supporting the shop floor processes, equipment, and customers:
Manage the Manufacturing Engineering group of approximately 20 team members in support of a dozen programs and 40+ production processes
Support hiring, workload, and staffing forecasting activities
Identify and train team in skills required to execute on assigned programs & projects
Mentor, direct, coach, and develop a high performing team
Balance functional expectations with programmatic needs to deliver results within cost, schedule, and quality parameters - Represent manufacturing in technical review boards
Lead the development, improvement, and qualification of production processes
Drive technological advancements in production processes
Drive to improve cost & schedule performance metrics to achieve affordability goals
Support troubleshooting systemic issues arise on processes and equipment
Lead strategic procurements of capital equipment
Review and approve of technical documents developed by team members

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field from an accredited university and +7 years of related experience (Masters with 5 years)
Experience working in a production and test environment
Experience managing programs or personnel
Proven leader with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent written & verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of employees and management
Ability to work on-site full time
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years of experience manufacturing electronic products for Space application
Active SCI security clearance
Strong understanding of microelectronic assembly processes and technologies
Well versed in MIL-STD-883 and MIL-PRF-38535 standards
Experience in Microelectronics Design for Manufacturability
High proficiency in technical problem solving, root cause analysis, solution development, and implementation & monitoring
Salary Range:
$147,800 - $221,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
