Microelectronics Assembly in the Automated Feed Factory.What's Great About Working for Northrop Grumman:Be part of a culture that thrives on intellectual curiosity, cognitive diversity and bringing your whole self to work.Use your skills to build and deliver innovative tech solutions that protect the world and shape a better future.Enjoy benefits like work-life balance, education assistance and paid time off.Many sites have 9/80 days, telework and flexible scheduling options, plus generous paid time off.Northrop Grumman was recognized as one of the world's most flexible employers by Sustainability Magazine in 2023.Northrop Grumman has made the Top 50 list for Diversity Inc. for 14 consecutive years!The Senior Principal Microelectronics Manufacturing Process Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the tasks outlined below:Process DevelopmentDeveloping and maintaining manufacturing processes in an automated, high volume production environmentCreating and managing to project plans (tasks, resources, schedules) for process development activitiesProviding ROI justification for process improvementsSpecifying, identifying and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness and preparing equipment for productionDeveloping and optimizing process parametersDeveloping/revising process documentation and work instructionsAssisting with design of custom toolingFactory SupportMonitoring process yields and cost, recommending and implementing quality improvements based on these metricsCreating, validating and maintaining automatic equipment programsSolving of manufacturing problems (related to materials, designs, equipment, people) in a timely mannerAssisting with the training of new personnel and participating in the design of operator training materialsSupporting factory maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of process equipmentWorking in cross functional teams to execute RCCAs and lean initiativesInterfacing with equipment vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issuesDesign SupportRecommending product design improvements required to produce advanced microelectronics productsBasic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Engineer:Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM degree, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant work experience (7 years with a Masters)Microelectronic Pick and Place experienceManufacturing/Process Engineering experienceFluency in MS Office software applicationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with J-STD and MIL-STD hardware requirementsFamiliarity with BESI/Datacon Epoxy Dispense Chip MountKnowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Experience with Lean/Six Sigma process improvementExperience with the design or manufacturing of microelectronics technology and materialsNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment which encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.
