The Psychology Associate Doctorate, Correctional position is the doctorate, unlicensed level of professional work that is performed under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. The main purpose of this position is to provide direct psychological services to incarcerated individuals in one or more programs.Such services may include, but are not limited to, the following:Conducts risk assessments, diagnostic assessments, and other types of psychological assessments as assignedProvides direct psychotherapeutic services to incarcerated individuals to include cognitive-behavioral group psychotherapy, individual therapy, and crisis interventionMay engage in research-related activities, supervision and training of unlicensed members of the psychology staff, and administrative supervision of other professional and clerical employeesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must meet all minimum qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. A Doctorate degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university in a program acceptable to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists.Experience:

None.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSPrior to probationary appointment, candidates for this classification must meet all selection standards as set forth in the Code of Maryland Regulations by the Maryland Correctional Training Commission.
