DPSCS WebsiteGRADEASTD13LOCATION OF POSITIONHoward CountyMCE HQ - 7275 Waterloo RoadJessup, MD 20794POSITION DUTIESPromote the utilization of prison-made products and services to government agencies, institutions, non-profit charitable, civic educational, fraternal, and religious organizations within the geographic boundaries of the State of Maryland.Utilize all forms of communication including written correspondence, telephone solicitations, and electronic correspondence (email) to solicit/generate a pool of prospective clients.Conduct ongoing personal visits/contacts with current and prospective client base weekly.Follow up on product deliveries either in person or via telephone to assure satisfaction on a weekly basis or driven by the sales volume in the territory.Maintain regular contact with current clients to keep them abreast of new products, price schedules, and availability of current products on a bi-weekly basis.Schedule and conduct periodic tours of MCE’s living showroom and manufacturing plants to provide personal/hands-on experiences for current and prospective clients.Schedule procurement appointments with purchasing agents, agency administrators, and other state officials deemed appropriate to make procurement decisions.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience:

Five years of experience in sales promotion, industrial sales, or marketing research.Notes:Equivalent volunteer and/or part-time experience can be substituted for the required experience.Education at an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience at the rate of 60 credit hours.DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualifications:Willing to travel, including statewide travel for customer service visits.Possession of government sector sales support experience.One or more years of experience giving oral presentations on work-related information to small groups (one to five people).LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONSEmployees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle.
