Art Director . This is a full-time, permanent position.The Art Director provides departmental oversight of the visual design direction and project production of communications developed in UMAC. This position takes a leadership role in managing the creation and curation of aesthetics for UMAC, ensuring the superior quality, efficient workflow, and timeliness of all delivered projects while unifying multifaceted projects into a cohesive brand identity. This position oversees staff and outside vendors in executing creative assets.What You Will Do:Holistic Art Direction and Creative Vision (30%):

Conceptualize and execute innovative campaigns and projects, maintain a consistent creative vision across diverse channels, and work on branding and campaign assignments.Team Leadership and Management (30%):

Manage a team of five designers, lead projects from ideation to delivery, ensure brand compliance, and oversee project budgets.Partner Management and Project Consultation (30%):

Work with stakeholders to identify project scope, analyze visual assets for compliance, and design/produce publications and collateral.Other projects as assigned (10%)What You Bring:Experience in art directing publications, events, digital media, and photoshoots.Commitment to diversity and inclusivity in design.Proficiency in Macintosh platform, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor's degree in design, advertising, marketing, communications, or related field and 5+ years’ experience in art direction or related field.What You Can Expect:Cubicle/open environment with potential noise and visual distractions.Some evening and weekend hours may be required.University of Washington is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
