They will set a clear vision and execute on this vision. This division chief will have the opportunity to advance the division through multidisciplinary clinical care, advanced and innovative surgical services, research, education, and service.The chief will inspire, develop, and lead an accomplished team of faculty and mentor trainees, drive the development of clinical programs, and create accountability in the division. They are expected to exhibit leadership and consensus-building within and beyond the division. To elevate the division to the next level, this leader will be expected to strategically recruit and retain talented faculty to support clinical growth, expand the division’s research footprint, improve the national reputation of transplant surgery at UArizona and Banner Health, and ensure excellence in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.The Division of Abdominal Surgery is housed within the Department of Surgery. Faculty provide clinical services and mentor trainees at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson, Banner – University Medical Center South.Minimum Qualifications:Be a Professor or Associate ProfessorHold an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent medical degree.Be an outstanding academic leader with a national/international reputation as an accomplished clinician, investigator, and educator.Have a proven, substantial, and progressive leadership experience in an academic medical center.Have a track record of building relationships with community-based providers and working in complex systems.Have the ability to engage faculty, mentor the careers of others, and collaborate within a complex health care system.Be eligible for medical licensure in Arizona.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in transplant surgery.Rank:
