Must be able to work onsite at our Ann Arbor, MI office 1-2 times per week.The Senior Marketing Manager, Events at VelocityEHS is tasked with planning, coordinating, managing, and overseeing the company’s participation in live events, including tradeshows, conferences, meetings, user conferences, customer summits, and speaking engagements. This is a high-level role within the company and requires a strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguous situations and excels at problem-solving. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses exceptional project management skills, and motivates others to deliver materials on time. They exhibit drive, determination, and thrive in fast-paced work environments and working under tight deadlines. This person will work with the Marketing Events Director to contribute to the development of a business strategy around events, aimed at maximizing brand awareness, fostering relationships, and generating high-quality prospects. Additionally, they will work cross-departmentally with key stakeholders, including subject matter experts (SMEs), executives, and other personnel, to ensure program success.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Work with the Marketing Events Director to develop a strong event strategy—both internal and external.Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the VelocityEHS brands are accurately and effectively represented at events.Adapt event schedule to accommodate evolving business needs.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Logistics:Serve as the point of contact for 25+ live events at any given time.Manage and oversee logistics for 25+ live events at any given time.Manage the booth inventory and work with the Marketing Director of Events to update displays and signage as required.Manage, track, and order giveaway items and apparel as required.Hold planning and update meetings as needed with stakeholders.Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, clients, and conference points of contact.Attend events as needed.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Project Management:Develop and manage event timelines, communicate deadlines, and assign roles and responsibilities to staff and clients as necessary.Manage the post-event process to collect and share feedback, and identify areas for improvement.Analyze and report on the effectiveness of events and related activities based on key performance metrics.Manage and track show invoices and expenses to help maintain the overall events budget.Oversee the proper and timely collection, routing, and tracking of event-obtained sales leads.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Communications & Design:Work with designers to develop creative assets as needed.Work with the marketing cross-functional teams to develop event communications (graphics, landing pages, emails, social posts, video, etc.) and ensure the timely fabrication and delivery of such items.Craft and edit marketing copy for email, social media, advertisements, landing pages, as required.Work with stakeholders to determine appropriate speaking opportunities/engagements.Draft and edit speaking abstracts and submissions.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Minimum Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.8-10+ years of experience managing trade shows, conferences, and meetings for B2B organizations.Strong customer service and project management skills.Strong decision-making, critical thinking, organizational, and prioritization skills.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work across departments and in cross-functional teams.Self-motivated, dependable, and persistent.Flexibility to travel 20% of the time.Availability to respond to calls/emails outside of standard business hours.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, social media applications (e.g., blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), and communication tools (email marketing software).Experience using Salesforce, Marketo, Microsoft Teams, and Event Management Tools (Team Up, Trello, RegFox, etc.).Preferred Skills and Qualifications:Achieved the designation as a certified meeting planner.Master’s degree in communication or related field.15+ years of tradeshow management experience.We welcome and encourage diversity in the workplace.
