Position Overview:We are seeking a Self Employed IAPT Counsellor to work both remotely and in-person across our premises in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. This role requires a qualification in the NHS/IAPT compliant modality Counselling for Depression (CfD) and offers part-time hours ranging from 10 to 20 client hours per week.Hourly Rates and Benefits:£30 per client session workedAccess to subsidised TCF CPD eventsAbout The Counselling Foundation:The Counselling Foundation has been in operation for over 40 years as a provider of counselling and training services. Our services include:Long-term heavily subsidised counselling for clients who cannot afford private careNHS short-term work for referred clients using Counselling for Depression (CfD) or Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)Short-term work for our charitable service, EAP contracts, and other NHS contractsTraining programmes including CPDs, short courses such as Introduction to Counselling, and a four-year Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling accredited by the BACPWe are continuously evolving, and mental health support has never been so critical to our communities. We want to expand our team and are looking for new colleagues to support us in our growth and innovation in client care.Key Responsibilities:As a counsellor in our service, you will:Assess clients for suitability for counsellingDeliver counselling support to clientsWork closely with the wider team and partner organisations to ensure appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in placePrimarily work with clients using PCE-Counselling for Depression or Dynamic Interpersonal TherapyBe supported by clinical managers and administrators from the teamMinimum Requirements:Qualification in the NHS/IAPT compliant modality Counselling for Depression (CfD)Qualified to Degree, MSc, MA, or Diploma level in CounsellingBACP/UKCP registered memberBACP accredited or working towards accreditationDelivered a minimum of 320 client hours to include agency workSignificant counselling experience post qualification, either in a paid or voluntary capacityExperience of providing effective time-limited counsellingExperience of carrying out assessments of client support needs, including risk assessmentsExperience of working with people who have experienced a common mental health problemDeveloped skills in assessing risk and a working knowledge of managing complex risk assessment in practiceExperience of delivering counselling over the phone and/or via video conferencingCompleted a Level 7 or equivalent BACP accredited counselling courseExperience of providing a counselling intervention within a primary care or IAPT settingQualification in another IAPT compliant counselling modality i.e. DITWorked in a service where agreed targets were in place demonstrating clinical outcomesExperience of developing and delivering therapeutic group workExperience of using electronic case management systems such as IAPTusAbove all, you will be passionate about joining a charitable organisation that embraces diversity and innovation and is connected with our local communities.
