NoEssential Job Functions:Plans and manages a national alumni outreach program that fosters a high level of alumni participation and programming.Attends alumni functions and meetings on evenings and on weekends. National travel is required and frequent.Trains alumni volunteers on the operations of the NSU Alumni Association and expectations of volunteer roles. Educates leaders and alumni about NSU's Vision 2020 and the role alumni play.Approves presentations for alumni and internal university staff on the programs and services of the alumni association.Works closely with team to execute alumni programs.Organizes and builds leadership in regional areas and assists alumni in implementing regional gatherings.Serves as a supportive member of the Advancement and Community Relations team on various fundraising campaigns, cultivation, and special events.Works with students to incorporate connections and builds the pipeline for a smooth transition to alumni status post-graduation.Develops a strategic plan for attending regional events, meetings and other regional programs involving visits of the President, Vice Presidents, Deans, university staff, administrators and faculty.Manages the planning of signature, University wide events where alumni groups have a role.Maintains an Annual Fund portfolio of alumni event attendees. Solicits alumni for Annual Fund or President's Associate gifts.Drafts special budget requests for Directors review. Reviews with Director and manages approved budget ensuring to minimize expenses while maximizing return.Works with Advancement Services to update alumni information and Research to identify annual fund and volunteer prospects.Provides information about alumni events for inclusion in the monthly e-newsletter.Manages communication between volunteer leadership and hosts monthly conference calls to share best practices.Develops an effective volunteer program by identifying, recruiting, training and managing alumni volunteers.Maintains regular communications with volunteers through personal visits, telephone calls, e-mails and correspondence.Works closely with the Student Affairs Coordinators at each NSU Campus to strategize on alumni and student programs.Manages the Alumni Relations team to develop the overall strategic direction of the NSU Alumni Association.Coordinates the hiring, training and supervising of employees.Manages a portfolio of Alumni Donors and Prospects.Meets annual fundraising goals set by the Vice President.Meets assigned metrics for prospects in their portfolio including donor visits, proposals, and solicitations.Performs other duties as assigned.Marginal Job Functions:Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Extensive writing experience and strong communication skills.Proven success in developing programs and events.Ability to interact in a diplomatic, service oriented, professional manner with the university community.Excellent problem solving skills, ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines.Ability to travel locally and out of state frequently.Possess strong interpersonal skills.Have the ability to interact with corporate executives and key academic administrators in a professional manner.Energetic team-player who works well in a group setting including building and managing relationships in a complex work environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills, must be skilled and comfortable with public speaking.Skilled in Microsoft Office, databases and graphic design.Strong project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.Effective time management skills and ability to work as part of a team, both with professional staff members and volunteers.Job Requirements:Required Certifications/Licensures:Required Education:
Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:
