Electric Tech I (Power Plant- Osceola Gas Generation)

Starting at $44.76 per hour (Estimated $93,100.80 annually) with a structured step progression system and performance-based pay increases every 6 months up to $49.48 per hour (Estimated $102,918.40 annually)Location:

Responsible for the troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of OUC's power plant electrical systems and equipment. The Tech I classification is expected to have a thorough understanding of various areas of the plant and have a mastery of their specialization which allows them to work independently and lead work projects when necessary. Tech I electricians work with high voltage (up to 6.9 kv) systems.Primary Functions:Troubleshoot power plant electrical systems, including problem identification, evaluation of alternative solutions, and implementation of corrective action;Perform installations, maintenance, tear down evaluation, and re-builds of supporting and auxiliary electrical devices;Program the control logic for feedback systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs);Perform inspections on jobs performed by lower classification technicians to ensure quality and standards;Utilize P&IDs and other documentation displaying the configuration and specification of parts, equipment, and systems to perform maintenance work;Lead work projects when needed, directing other technicians in the repair of electrical equipment;Mentor and guide lower classification technicians within the Electric Tech's duties;Demonstrate proficiency of instrumentation and control (I&C) skills at the Tech III level;Perform other duties as assigned.Technical Requirements:Working knowledge of all, but not limited to the following:OUC Safety practices and procedures;Maintenance, installation, and upgrading of electrical systems;Electrical theory;Power plant systems;Interpretation and editing of relevant documents;Use of equipment including hand tools and electrical testing equipment;Software and technologies including LOTO software and JD Edwards Enterprise One.Familiarity with all, but not limited to the following:Distributed Control Information Systems (DCIS);Power Plant operations (preferred);Related industry guidelines and best practices.Strong problem solving, time management, and communication skills;Ability to make arithmetic computations and use Microsoft Office Suite with basic proficiency.Working Conditions:

This job requires willingness to work extended hours when required including nights, weekends, and holidays. This job requires working in areas with elevations in excess of 100 feet, confined spaces, excessive noise, chemicals, noxious fumes, vibration, extreme heat, and occasionally extreme weather conditions.Physical Requirements:

This job includes constant or very frequent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, speaking & hearing (English), typing, and detailed inspection/reading/editing.
