is presently seeking an Electric Technician I to join the Electric and Water division. In this role, you will be responsible for working with high-voltage (up to 6.9 kv) systems. Starting at $44.76 per hour (Estimated $93,100.80 annually) with a structured step progression system and performance-based pay increases every 6 months up to $49.48 per hour (Estimated $102,918.40 annually)Location:
Osceola Generating Station: 8400 Community Center Road, St. Cloud, FL 34773Job Purpose:Responsible for the troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of OUC’s power plant electrical systems and equipment. The Tech I classification is expected to have a thorough understanding of various areas of the plant and have a mastery of their specialization which allows them to work independently and lead work projects when necessary. Tech I electricians work with high voltage (up to 6.9 kv) systems.Primary Functions:Troubleshoot power plant electrical systems, including problem identification, evaluation of alternative solutions, and implementation of corrective action;Perform installations, maintenance, tear down evaluation, and re-builds of supporting and auxiliary electrical devices;Program the control logic for feedback systems using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs);Perform inspections on jobs performed by lower classification technicians;Utilize P&IDs and other documentation to perform maintenance work;Lead work projects when needed, directing other technicians;Mentor and guide lower classification technicians;Demonstrate proficiency of instrumentation and control (I&C) skills;Perform other duties as assigned.Technical Requirements:Working knowledge of OUC Safety practices and procedures;Maintenance, installation, and upgrading of electrical systems;Electrical theory;Power plant systems and outage schedules;Interpretation and editing of relevant documents;Use of equipment including hand tools and electrical testing equipment;Familiarity with Distributed Control Information Systems (DCIS).Education/ Certification/ Years of Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or GED;Minimum of seven (7) years of power plant Electrical maintenance experience OR ten (10) years of industrial Electrical maintenance experience;Certifications and specialized trainings to be required upon hire.Working Conditions:
This job requires willingness to work extended hours when required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.Physical Requirements:
