At Alpha, our commitment lies in treating every client with utmost dignity and respect while also valuing and nurturing the abilities of our employees to foster their professional growth.Job SummaryThe Children’s Program Director is responsible for the children’s Out of Home Services (OHS) and Intensive Habilitative Services (IHS) programs. This position will oversee the provision of support to program participants and provide general management of the programs. The Children’s Program Director also interacts with program participants and must be familiar with the Guiding Values issued by the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). At all times, the Director of Special Programs will seek to act in accord with the principles and values expressed and uphold the agency mission.Day-to-DayProvide personnel supervision to assigned staffConduct annual reviewsEnsure time card complianceManage performanceFacilitate skill developmentParticipate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars; complete individual training requirements annually and maintain certifications and licensures as requiredAttend mandatory training including: First Aid / CPR, Blood borne pathogens, and Mandated reporterOperate a personal and/or agency vehicle on a regular basis; Maintain personal vehicle in a safe operating conditionMaintain certifications and licenses as a condition of employment, including a Washington State Driver’s license and automobile registration, and automobile insurance that meets Washington State requirementsDevelop proposals to serve individuals referred to and considered for placement in the agency’s children’s OHS and IHS programsWork with DDA resource managers to set rates for new clientsAssess the needs and staffing supports for clients and facilitate the transition to supported servicesPlan, facilitate, and keep records of meetings with families/guardiansDevelop care plans for IHS residents with the purpose of presenting and training families upon dischargeBe available for ongoing consultation for IHS clients as neededProvide oversight and management for the children’s OHS and IHS programsMonitor staffing levels to ensure they are in line with the contracted supervision levels reimbursed by DDAAccount for all aspects of client care and support services, ensuring each program participant has a treatment plan that reflects their unique needsManage incident report tracking, analyzing for patterns of behaviorsServe as an emergency contact for on-call purposes, and serve as a liaison with DDA personnel for notification of emergent situationsProvide quality assurance reviews as neededWrite Functional Assessments and Positive Behavior Support Plans for each client in the children’s OHS and IHS programsProvide training and consultation to staff to ensure effective implementation of plansCollect and compile data of applicable target and replacement behaviorsAnalyze and evaluate the effectiveness of behavioral supports and strategies and modify plans based upon data and observationsCompile tracking sheets and chart behaviors on a monthly basis to determine any patternsProvide quarterly progress reports for each individual in the programs for both internal and external stakeholdersOversee the submission, approval, and implementation of Exceptions to Policy or Rule pertaining to restrictions or those that occur as a result of Positive Behavior Support Plans; ensure annual renewal as necessaryReview and revise plans every 6 months at a minimumEnsure compliance with legal, contractual, and regulatory guidelinesCreate and maintain related documentation as needed or assignedCollaborate with the Director of Human Resources to ensure continuing education requirements are metEnsure program staff have completed the appropriate course orientation to the agency and its participants before assuming their responsibilitiesPerform other duties as assigned by the Special Programs DirectorWho we are looking forIntermediate to advanced ability to influence others, negotiate, and bring others together to achieve goals and outcomesDemonstrated knowledge of housing and facilities managementAbility to anticipate problems and take steps toward meeting them, including contingency planningAbility to develop a number of ideas about relevant topicsStrong knowledge of the non-profit industry to know how other non-profit organizations are approaching similar issuesIntermediate ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions and then apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make senseAdvanced ability to communicate with people inside and outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, funders, donors, government, and other external sourcesJob RequirementsAt least 18 years of ageA master’s degree from a recognized college or university in a field approved by DCYF for this position per WAC 110-145-1460At least five years’ experience working in social services and at least two years’ experience in project, operations, and/or managementA Washington State Driver’s License, current vehicle insurance, and able to be covered on Alpha Supported Living Services’ automobile insurance based upon driving recordBackground inquiry clearance from an authorized state agencyStarting Wage:
$79,040Wage Scale:
$79,040 - $102,960Benefits for Full-Time Employees (30 hours or more a week) include:
Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b) (non-profit version of a 401(k)) with company match, Life Insurance, Tuition Savings Program, and Tuition Reimbursement. Employees working 34 or more hours a week are eligible for PTO accrual.Please note:
