Northrop Grumman Marine Systems – Cape Canaveral is seeking a Principal or Senior Project Manager to Support the Columbia / Dreadnought Launcher Production Program team. The primary objective will be the delivery of all assigned contractual requirements within cost target and on schedule, while creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a broad skill set that is balanced between interpersonal and business capabilities. The candidate has excellent communication skills and is comfortable engaging with project stakeholders, functional teams, and both internal and external customers to achieve project goals. The candidate is committed to ethics, integrity, and innovation while challenging traditional ways of doing business.
Responsibilities include the following:
Oversee and manage activities of assigned programs/projects
Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives
Maintain and review status of assigned project activities to ensure cost, schedule, and technical commitments are being met
Managing suppliers to meet program objectives
Be responsible for the compliance to all financial tracking processes such as formal and informal EVMS systems.
Participating in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, schedule milestones, and key terms and conditions
Assess project issues and develop corrective actions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives
Lead status review sessions with internal management and customer to discuss status of project cost, schedule, and technical performance
Develop and maintain schedules, lessons learned, status reports and other project documentation to document project execution and performance
Conducting thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization
This requisition may be filled as a Principal or Senior Principal Project Management.
Basic Qualifications - Principal Project Management:
Bachelors degree with 5 years relevant experience or Masters with 3 years relevant experience
Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management
Prior experience working with cross-functional organizations (Program Office, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business Management, Field Operations, etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project and SAP MRP (or similar) system.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship required.

Bachelors degree with 8 years relevant experience or Masters with 6 years relevant experience
Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management
Prior experience working with cross-functional organizations (Program Office, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business Management, Field Operations, etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project and SAP MRP (or similar) system.
The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of TRIDENT II Launcher Subsystem and Support Equipment
Design and operational knowledge of Navy Programs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem solving abilities
Salary Range:
$76,600 - $115,000
Salary Range 2:
$95,000 - $142,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
