PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.ABOUT THE JOBAs part of the HR Team, the Payroll Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the payroll function for the PATH family of organizations. Position Responsibilities:Supervise payroll staff; provide training, guidance and mentorship to ensure staff stays up-to-date on current statutes, laws and procedures and to ensure accurate processing of payroll.Review and approve semi-monthly payroll for 1000+ employees in California.Oversee Time and Attendance function.Process payroll in the absence of the Payroll Specialist.Review quarterly and annual reports filed by payroll provider; ensure accuracy & timeliness.Review and abide by company policies and procedures.Ensure payroll is submitted by established deadline.Partner with Finance and Compliance to ensure an accurate & smooth transition of payroll data.Oversee preparation of payroll information for annual 403b audit.Oversee preparation of payroll information for annual Worker's Compensation audit.Oversee Wage Garnishments.Establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors, other HR team members, management and staff.WHAT YOU BRINGWe’re looking for candidates with:Analytical Skills and Attention to Detail: Gather and interpret data, identifying trends, patterns, and insights to inform decision-making. Think outside the box, generating innovative solutions to problems or challenges.Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: Analyze and evaluate information and situations, identify key issues, consider alternatives, and make logical decisions based on sound reasoning that will achieve the desired outcome.Ethics and Boundaries: Maintain ethical and professional standards, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and a commitment to doing the right thing in all situations while maintaining professional boundaries.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or related field.Experience with UKG, UKG Ready, Kronos, or Inova Payroll Systems.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTo be considered for this position, we require all candidates:Five (5) years' experience in payroll.Three (3) years' experience supervising a payroll team.MANDATORY REQUIREMENTSRegardless of qualifications, candidates must:Have employment eligibility verificationHave or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid trainingSuccessfully complete the following as a condition of hire:
