to join the team. The senior consultant will assist our customers with carbon capture and utilization (CCU), which is a core element of the DNV vision that aims to accelerate action on climate change. To focus our efforts on solutions that maximize value to our customers, Energy Systems has launched a CCUS investment and is now looking to add a few consultants to our growing team in this area, supporting CO2 capture and utilization advisory and verification services. Our services within this domain include: Technology qualification and advisory on new capture technologies Market assessment, techno-economics, and life cycle analysis for road maps for customers Risk management advisory Verification, certification, and independent audits of CO2 capture and utilization projects Evaluation of monitoring and verification programs Independent Engineering support for carbon capture, transport, and utilization projects This position may be in our DNV office in Seattle, WA, or Katy, TX. Other DNV office locations may be considered. What You'll Do Actively participate in customer calls to understand ask, define clear scopes and lead proposal development Grow CCU practice and help position DNV competitively in above service areas Produce or update competitive intelligence reports following literature reviews to identify the latest technology developments and technology readiness levels of relevant technologies Being able to scale down processes and their corresponding cost estimates matching customers’ interests Work in designing and optimizing production processes of different scales Perform technical due diligence on processes for producing and using CO2, including processes to make derived products such as methanol, synthetic methane, mineralization, and carbonates Enthusiastically contribute to developing and delivering a strong portfolio of services related to projects for CO2 capture and utilization. This may include consulting and subscription-based services Execute projects together with regional resources and CCS venture members Build customer relationships and monitor customer satisfaction. Continuously strive for new opportunities for improvement or expansion of added value Develop internal process engineering tools to assess carbon capture technologies from FEL 0 to FEL 2 level Able to verify, comment, and provide gap analysis on technical aspects for Carbon capture and utilization capital project packages What is Required Masters or PhD in Engineering or relevant field (preferred Chemical, Mechanical, or GeoEngineering) Minimum 5 yrs. of professional experience in the CO2 capture industry, with a preferred emphasis on power plants or industrial carbon capture Knowledge and experience of other relevant CO2 capture technologies Project-level experience in process simulation, H&M balances, and understanding of 45Q Good network within the CCU industry and ability to nurture and pursue business opportunities Deep market knowledge and insights and ability to clearly define opportunities for growth Strong customer focus Persuasive and persistent Strong written and verbal English communication skills Excitement and enthusiasm to be part of a new service and innovation team We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening *Immigration-related employment benefits, for example visa sponsorship, are not available for this position* DNV is a proud equal-opportunity employer committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
