UTRGV School of Medicine seeks a full-time faculty member to serve as a Program Director to start, maintain, and teach a Neurology residency program. The chosen individual would provide direct patient care and consultation to other providers with and without trainees at UTRGV SOM and affiliated clinical sites. Potential sites include: HCA Rio Grande Regional Hospital, Valley Regional Brownsville, and other affiliated sites.Minimum Qualifications:

MD/DO terminal degree; must possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas medical license and provide clinical services in the state of Texas; experience with providing clinical and educational services.Discipline Specific Required Qualifications:

Completion of ACGME Neurology Residency; ABPN Certified in Neurology or equivalent board certification. Three (3) years of clinical and administrative experience post-residency per ACGME guidelines.Preferred Qualifications:

A record of ongoing involvement in scholarly activities, including peer review publications, and mentoring. Experience in Neurology Education such as Associate Program Director or Clerkship Director is preferred.License or Certification Required?

UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general laboratory environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.Special Instructions to Applicants:
