Location: 400 Parnassus Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94117, United States Job Posted Date: September 4, 2024 Academic Positions Full-time Positions Postdoc Positions Population: Other The Department of Radiology at UCSF has a position available for a Post-doctoral Associate in the Brain Networks Laboratory of Dr. Ashish Raj, a researcher in brain network modeling and machine vision. Our lab aims to develop advanced computational models and methods for visualization, analysis, quantification, and processing of medical imaging data, especially neuroimaging data. The lab has faculty, researchers, and students from the fields of computer science, electrical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, and radiology. This Fellowship will be conducted under the supervision of Ashish Raj and will be supported from new NIH grants for developing graph-based models for dementia and brain activity. Possible projects include: Graph models for progression of various neurological diseases in the brain Dynamical Systems Computational Neuroscience, neuron models Genomics, informatics, and spatial transcriptomics fMRI, EEG, and MEG data analysis and computational modeling Graph-based models and representations for neuroimaging data Combined modeling of functional and structural brain networks Human brain Connectomics Software design and engineering The Raj laboratory provides an exceptional multi-disciplinary research environment and excellent training opportunities. We are a young, energetic, and diverse lab that welcomes new ideas. We are located at the vibrant Parnassus campus in the heart of San Francisco, with easy access to world-class scientific, medical, cultural, and entertainment facilities. Job Requirements: We are looking for a candidate having the following qualifications: Advanced research degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in neuroimaging, neuroinformatics, computer science, electrical engineering, physics, applied mathematics, biomedical engineering, or neuroscience Strong expertise in one or more of: Graph theory, pattern recognition, and computational modeling - Strong coding and software engineering skills - MRI image acquisition, reconstruction, and processing - Genomics, informatics, and spatial transcriptomics - fMRI, EEG, and MEG data analysis - Neuro-image analysis - Familiarity with ADNI, PPMI, HCP, ABCD, and other public neuroimaging databases - Familiarity with neuroimaging tools like Freesurfer, AFNI, SPM, FSL, BrainStorm, EEGLab - Signal, image, and vision processing Experience in software development and tools such as MatLab, Python.
