Location: Suburban Hospital, Bethesda, MD-Core Lab

Limited Part Time- 20 hrs. per week/Evening Shift/ 3pm - 11:30pm/weekend rotations

*Will Consider Medical Technologist I, II or III

General Summary:

Performs a variety of both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures with minimal supervision. Level of supervision is determined by skill level and experience.

Has a working knowledge of equipment, processing of specimens, test results and time constraints of test, in their assigned area.

If trained as generalists may be assigned to any area or combination of areas.

Has a thorough understanding of medical technology as it is related to their specific job category.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Work requires formal educational background in biology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology and microbiology normally acquired through completion of a four year post-secondary school program in clinical laboratory technology.

Experience:

This role is intended for Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of experience (Two at JHHS facility) and verified/recognized certification. Candidate must work at 1.0 FTE.

Completion of clinical rotation during final year of bachelor's degree program or (one year) equivalent clinical lab experience or course work specific to the discipline. For this level, the employee must demonstrate certification accepted by the Department of Pathology, or MS degree plus 2 years relevant clinical laboratory experience in an approved CLIA laboratory.

Promotion to this position may be achieved by working for two years at a JHHS facility with proficient competencies and greater than satisfactory ratings on annual performance evaluation. Verification of education and current accepted certification is required.

Certification in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, MT, MLS, ASCP or a nationally recognized professional organization is required.

Salary Range: Minimum $25.59 per hour - Maximum $50.51 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
