As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department.What Awaits You?Career growth and developmentTuition assistanceDiverse and collaborative working environmentComprehensive and affordable benefit packageFull Time-/Night Shift/11pm-7:30amWeekend RotationsSibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, D.C.**Will Consider Medical Technologist I, II or IIIGeneral Summary:Performs a variety of both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures with minimal supervision.Has a working knowledge of equipment, processing of specimens, test results and time constraints of test, in their assigned area.If trained as generalists may be assigned to any area or combination of areas.Has a thorough understanding of medical technology as it is related to their specific job category.Minimum Qualifications:Education:Formal educational background in biology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology and microbiology normally acquired through completion of a four-year post-secondary school program in clinical laboratory technology.Experience:This role is intended for Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologist with a minimum of 5 years of experience (Two at JHHS facility) and verified/recognized certification.Completion of clinical rotation during final year of bachelor's degree program or (one year) equivalent clinical lab experience or course work specific to the discipline.Certification in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science, MT, MLS, ASCP or a nationally recognized professional organization is required.Important Notices:Effective January 1st 2022, you must be fully vaccinated with an FDA COVID-19 vaccination and provide proof of your vaccination status as part of your occupational health screening.
