Cloud Engineer

As a Cloud Engineer at OneUnited Bank, you will be working with a fast-paced innovative team, leveraging Cloud as the key driver of transformation for the organization. You will work to ensure the quality, consistency, and efficiency of all bank infrastructure. Ideal candidates will be pro-active, process-oriented, and results-driven individuals that effectively leverage technology to collaborate with team members to get work done.As the largest Black owned bank in America, OneUnited has been on a journey to leverage technology to empower and build economic wealth in our community. The Cloud Engineer will be expected to cover a large spectrum of technology and topics like infrastructure as code, security, application modernization through usage of containerization, serverless platforms, CI/CD, and cloud networking.At OneUnited as part of the IT team, the Cloud Engineer is a key technical leader in our organization and acts as an ambassador of the bank’s technical and cloud engineering expertise. The Cloud Engineer should be able to navigate and manage a broad technical range while also effectively managing projects and interfacing with strategic partners.Some of the daily responsibilities include:Monitoring the availability and system integrity of production infrastructure.Project management lead for infrastructure projects.Reviewing security reports and remediation of vulnerabilities.Managing user security profiles including new hires and terminations.Technical documentation.Acting as escalation point for internal user support.Please note: This is an On-Site position.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:3 years of experience working with a major public cloud platform. Experience with Google Cloud is preferred.Hands-on experience with common DevOps tools and practices.Excellent technical skills in the following areas:Linux and Windows system administration.Networking (data center and cloud).MySQL or other Database Administration.Experience working with traditional data center environments and technologies (VMWare, physical servers, networks/firewalls).Experience migrating applications from a data center environment to a public cloud is preferred.Ability to write scripts and automation in at least one language.Comfortable with being on video in meetings internally and with strategic partners.Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.No regular travel required, but periodic travel is necessary.The Bank is in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and does not discriminate with regard to applicants or employees with disabilities, and will make reasonable accommodation when necessary.OneUnited Bank is an equal opportunity employer.
