We are seeking a
Head of Product Compliance
who will provide insight and guidance to the Product, Legal and Compliance teams as it relates to payment product development in determining risk profile and regulatory obligations in the Americas. This leader will report to the Head of Payments Compliance in the Americas and also advise the Head of Global Product Compliance and Head of Global Payments Compliance and other members of the Leadership team of Global Payments on some of the most important payments-related risks and issues facing the organization. The incumbent will work closely with senior management to develop and maintain a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop overall product compliance implementation strategy by empowering product teams to build compliant-by-design new products and services.Establish proper product launch governance to ensure all compliance controls are implemented correctly by the product team.Advise product team on how to implement regulatory requirements in a customer-oriented way while fully adhering to regulatory requirements.Ensure regulatory analysis of new products and services are performed and well-documented, and that related controls are implemented consistently prior to launch for each market we operate in.Collaborate with AMS compliance teams, FinCrimes compliance team and product team on product design to ensure compliance controls are in place.Monitor and assess the compliance of all products with applicable regulations in multiple countries.Ensure proper compliance change controls are in place; where issues are identified, work with Compliance Oversight team to ensure remediation plans are implemented properly.Advise product and operational teams on how to interpret regulatory requirements or improve processes to avoid regulatory breaches and/or incidents.Represent AMS Compliance in external meetings with third party channel partners and be able to clearly and effectively articulate all of our payments product offerings and its compliance controls.Develop, manage and lead the AMS product compliance team in different countries.Stay abreast of evolving AMS product compliance regulations and trends.Provide guidance to internal teams on regulatory requirements for new product development and existing product enhancements.Conduct new product risk assessments to identify and address potential compliance issues.Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies related to product compliance.Prepare and present compliance reports to senior executives and stakeholders.Communicate updates on product compliance initiatives to relevant teams and departments.QualificationsSimilar senior product compliance role in multi-national fintech or financial services industry preferred.Ability to prioritize effectively and identify key areas of improvement and implementation required from a regulatory point of view.Ability to effectively communicate with Product Managers and Engineers, and provide practical, actionable, and value added compliance recommendations.Expert of financial regulations and familiarity of regulatory regimes in the Americas.Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks and apply them effectively.Ability to navigate complex regulatory environments across different jurisdictions (e.g. U.S. State MSB regulators, FinCEN, Fintrac, Central Bank of Brazil, etc).Ability to deal with multiple regulatory domains (i.e. regulatory licensing, consumer protection, payments, BSA/AML/sanctions, privacy, etc) and to understand how they interact with one another.More than 12 years of experience in product compliance management, with a strong track record of enabling products in a compliant way.Deep understanding of international product compliance regulations, standards, and best practices.Excellent leadership and team management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Juris Doctorate a plus.ByteDance is committed to creating an inclusive space where employees are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives.
