The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks exceptional faculty members to join a dedicated group of medical educators in the Division of Hospital Medicine. The position is open rank on the clinician educator track. Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.Benefits of being an Academic Nocturnist at UNM include:Faculty appointment within UNM School of MedicineOverseeing upper level residents/APP's in their cross-cover and admitting rolesIntensivists in house 24/7, limited procedural requirements for hospitalistOption to pursue mixed model day and night rolesOpportunity to teach medical students and resident physicians in both pre-clinical and clinical years of trainingEarly opportunities for protected time for education, leadership and quality improvementCompetitive salary with extra pay for working on direct care services and at nightApplicants will be required to obtain New Mexico licensure and be eligible for DEA licensure and NM State Board of Pharmacy narcotics license. This position may be subject to a criminal records screening in accordance with New Mexico law.Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:Must be board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine by date of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Attended a US Medical school as a third and fourth year medical student OR served at least two years in a residency that provides education to US medical students during their core clerkship in internal medicine OR served on the faculty of a medical school.Experience/interest in hospital medicineExperience/interest in medical education and quality improvement activitiesPreference will be given to current and former New Mexico ResidentsA demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.Application Instructions
