RockCreek seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented, and energetic professional to join the Operational Due Diligence team as a Vice President. In this role, you will be responsible for operational due diligence of investments across private equity, private credit, real estate, public equities, and other alternative investments and emerging financial instruments and funds. You will be responsible for using technology and systems to synthesize data and achieve efficiencies. You will be responsible for delivery case studies and for being at the center of knowledge management and best practice in the area of operational due diligence for the benefit of RockCreek, our clients, and other stakeholders. Our ideal candidate will have experience with due diligence of public and private investments and has the flexibility to evolve with industry changes and ever-changing situations. You will report to a Managing Director and will be working closely with other teams, including Investment Team, Data Team, and Legal Team. This role is at the heart of investment decision-making and risk management. The individual will be involved in the following critical activities: Identify and understand the risks associated with the operations of private and alternative investment strategies and evaluate how risks are addressed in areas of operations and compliance. Evaluate the overall quality of fund systems, controls, infrastructure and personnel in order to identify issues and risks relevant to the overall investment decision with emphasis on trading, valuation, compliance, use of counterparties (e.g. prime brokers, FCM’s, etc.), order processing systems, collateral management, etc. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Forensics Journalism, Business, Law, Accounting or other relevant major. Experience in the alternatives space, including private equity and hedge funds. Understanding of processes within financial institution operations; knowledge of investment strategies and instruments. General working knowledge in the following areas: Operational infrastructure and internal control design. Safeguarding of cash and authorization of cash movements. Independent custody of assets / reconciliation of cash and positions. Valuation of investment portfolios. Trading operations. Counterparty risk management and treasury practices. Regulatory compliance programs. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have general PC experience and be highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and SharePoint. Key Experience
