POSITION OBJECTIVEThe Executive Director of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for the planning and execution of Weatherhead School of Management’s corporate engagement strategy. This individual will work directly with the Associate Dean of Corporate Partnerships and Executive Education and will serve in an executive role as a subject matter expert for the university’s corporate engagement strategy. The executive director must be comfortable dealing with high-level corporate leaders, internal school leadership, and other key stakeholders. They must have the ability to develop high 'value-added' and lifelong touchpoints for Weatherhead’s corporate partners. Positioning Weatherhead as a convener for high business ideals and best practices by building relationships with corporations aligned with Case Western Reserve University will be an important activity for this position. The executive director will create and execute a plan for all corporate activities and customize relationships with leading corporate partners that benefit all of Weatherhead. The executive director will work alongside the associate dean and other WSOM executive directors to implement collaborations and partnerships with corporations incorporating all aspects of WSOM programs, centers, services, students, and faculty.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvide strategic advice to the co-deans, associate dean, and the school’s leadership group for developing and implementing practices related to achieving the school’s strategic goals, priorities, and overall plan. Participate in long-term and short-term strategic planning for corporate development and partnerships across the school. Identify new corporate partnerships and opportunities. Serve as the primary point of contact to manage outreach and engagement efforts. Develop and execute strategies to solicit, cultivate, and increase new business relationships between industry and Weatherhead. Pursue new business relationships with an eye toward a full complement of engagement with students and faculty; responsible for identification of opportunities and transitioning to the appropriate WSOM team for implementation. Work with the internal WSOM team (Recruitment, Career Placement, Degree Program Leaders, Center Directors, Executive Education, and faculty) to ensure a smooth transition from opportunity identification to handoff for implementation. Work with department leaders to address challenges and ensure timely achievement of short-term and long-term critical priorities. Manage a portfolio of corporate clients. (65%)Build Weatherhead’s corporate engagement framework. The framework will include processes to coordinate, communicate, and consolidate corporate partnerships (regional, national, and international) with Recruitment, Career Placement, Degree Program Leaders, Center Directors, Executive Education, and faculty. Determine the process for facilitating connections, i.e., moving from identification to implementation with appropriate WSOM team member. Work with cross-functional teams within the school to develop new engagement methods or make changes based on school and industry needs. Coach or advise teams in best practices to support their efforts and maintain corporate relationships. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders; support plans and initiatives to meet school and industry needs; identify and communicate goals and objectives; build accountability for progress and measure the results to be achieved; identify and address enhancement opportunities and adapt to promoting continuous improvement. Develop an analytical framework or model for assessing corporate development and outcomes of strategic initiatives.
