Board Position - Treasurer for Survivor Wellness

Survivor Wellness 2024 Board Position: TreasurerSurvivor Wellness, founded in 1997 as Cancer Wellness House, serves cancer patients, cancer survivors, and their family members, caregivers, and loved ones with free and reduced-rate programming in two historic homes in central Salt Lake City.We are seeking a skilled individual, preferably with a connection to cancer and experience in the nonprofit sector, to serve as treasurer on the board of directors. The treasurer must be committed to growing the organization by overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations, and providing valuable financial guidance to the board. This volunteer position is vital to the enrichment of the organization and requires a commitment of ten hours per month.Board Treasurer Responsibilities:

Be the principal financial officer of the corporation and the chair of the finance committee;Have care and custody of all its funds, securities, evidences of indebtedness, and other personal property and deposit the same in accordance with the instructions of the Board of Directors;Participate in the development and oversight of the annual operating budget;Ensure that the executive director signs all signature cards for all accounts in which Cancer Wellness House funds are deposited and safety deposit box access cards;Provide for an independent annual audit of the books by a certified public accountant approved by the finance committee, and present the completed audit to the Board of Directors;Present a report and a complete financial statement at each regular meeting of the Board of Directors.We welcome those interested to visit Survivor Wellness and meet with the executive director prior to applying.For more information, contact Dana Levy, Executive Director.
