F1 Arcade is a diverse operation and appeals to a wide range of audiences including adult social groups, corporate events, families, and everything in between. Our first US location is now open in the vibrant Boston Seaport District with 25 additional sites opening in the United States over the next 5 years.
OPPORTUNITY
The Sales Coordinator is a highly visible sales position involving selling, planning, scheduling, and coordinating the execution of contracted private party/large group events/venue buyouts. F1 is seeking a seasoned sales professional in the Boston Seaport market to oversee and contribute to the success of the new Boston location. Reporting to the venue's Senior Sales Manager, the position must maintain a high level of daily selling activity (personal visits, prospecting calls, lead generation, etc.) ensuring the ability to consistently meet and exceed sales objectives. The ideal candidate requires excellent organizational skills and an understanding of the overall operations of the restaurant business, as well as a strategic mindset. You must have exceptional sales skills and possess the ability to effectively communicate and provide world-class service to our guests/clients. In addition, the Sales Coordinator must exercise considerable initiative, independent judgment, diplomacy, flexibility, and discretion in the performance of assigned duties.
To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience in sales, ideally in a hospitality setting, while taking accountability for reaching financial and project-based targets. Ultimately, you will ensure your area of responsibility meets and exceeds the expectations of our business objectives and contributes to our company's success in the long run.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for solicitation and booking of events.
Clear understanding of and ability to express company identity, concept, position, and event options.
Full knowledge of food and beverage products along with a complete knowledge of venue capabilities.
Must have basic understanding of FOH and BOH operational procedures/concerns as they relate to large events.
Responsible for aggressive prospecting including obtaining leads and making cold calls to prospective clients, as well as organizing for follow-up.
Solicit group and event business including but not limited to direct contact with the local community, tour operators, hotels/resorts, destination companies, convention and visitor bureaus/associations, trade shows, area attractions, and meeting planners.
Responsible for scheduling and executing site tours as directed by Senior Sales Manager.
Provide clients with innovative and timely proposals exhibiting thorough knowledge of their needs as pertains to menu selections, beverage preferences, budget, and all aspects of event planning.
Responsible for writing and pricing contracts.
Ability to design and effectively implement both short-term and long-term sales strategies.
Ability to analyze market and venue trends that impact sales, both positive and negative.
Address potential problems and suggest prompt solutions.
Proven experience in cross-selling and competence in various sales activities.
Demonstrated knowledge of organizational strategies and techniques.
Possession of good networking capabilities.
Manage and maintain strong relationships with current and future professional membership and associations.
Effectively track and report on applicable sales initiatives.
Ability to be flexible and to multitask and absorb pressure that comes with the position.
Ability to work independently with a proven proactive planning and organizational approach.
Result-oriented and driven.
Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures having to do with sales activities.
Assist venues in increasing overall guest satisfaction.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Proven work experience in a hospitality sales role.
Proven success in a high sales revenue environment.
Existing knowledge of venue markets, consumer trends, and competitive analysis.
Familiarity with CRM software, Tripleseat, SevenRooms, and Toast preferred.
Understanding of venue operations.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with a problem-solving attitude.
Ability to contribute to marketing programs as needed.
Administrative skills to assist with contract closeouts.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION
Minimum four years event/sales experience preferred.
Minimum four years hospitality sales-related experience preferred.
Sales experience within 'eatertainment' specific industry.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Competent in all aspects of the sales process, client management, cultivating strategic relationships, and meeting sales targets.
Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, ability to check for understanding after direction is given (follow up), basic math skills, strong organization skills, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
Computer skills required.
