The Herriman Campus Director provides leadership for and oversight of all University of Utah operations and programs at the Juniper Building at Herriman Campus. The Director oversees academic and non-academic programs at Herriman, liaises with main campus departments and central administration, and maintains a strong partnership with Salt Lake Community College and the local community in and around Herriman.The Director is responsible for implementing strategic planning and goals at the Herriman campus in alignment with the University of Utah and Undergraduate Studies goals and mission. The Director ensures that operations abide by appropriate university policies and procedures.Responsibilities

Directs the implementation of educational objectives for the Herriman Campus that are comprehensive, appropriate, and consistent with the University of Utah’s goals and objectives through enhancement of the Exceptional Educational Experience (E3).Establishes and maintains clear and consistent communication and coordination between SLCC and UofU academic, administrative, and student affairs leadership and staff on all aspects of Herriman Campus planning and implementation.Provides strategic direction by setting short and long-term goals, estimating budgetary requirements for staff, space and equipment planning, and implementing special projects and policies.Establishes a collaborative and positive team culture and environment among U and SLCC staff and faculty.Oversees facility operations for the University of Utah and in coordination with SLCC and Engage U leadership.Oversees aspects of staff resource management including recruitment and retention of assigned staff, in collaboration with division/unit supervisors, Engage U, and Undergraduate Studies leadership.Forecasts staffing, capital and operating budget needs in evaluating and reporting on market sensitivity, financial analysis, space utilization review, staff performance evaluation, etc.Oversees the analysis and determination of appropriate staff mix to support student, faculty, and staff needs.Markets and promotes new and existing programs and services to internal and external stakeholders and audiences.Participates in university-wide committees as needed to support administrative plans and policies.Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.Works collaboratively with SLCC counterpart to resolve issues and arrive at mutually beneficial solutions.This job description is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communications skills required.Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.Preferences

Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Higher Education or Student Affairs Administration, or related area strongly preferred.Excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to foster positive working relationships with diverse constituenciesAbility to anticipate and resolve issuesAbility to handle sensitive issues with discretionCollaborative approach to building teams and working with othersExcellent time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and projectsAbility to work independently with minimal direct supervisionProficiency with centralized systems for procurement, travel, and accountingAdditional Information
