Location: Chicago, ILJob Description:Oversees confidential briefing process for events and individual meetings for the Dean of the College, collaborating with colleagues across the university to source information and draft briefings.Provides support for and staffs College Advisory Council events programming.Assists director in planning and deploying communications, as well as managing web presence for the College Advisory Council.Develops and communicates reports to guide strategy around decanal portfolio and travel, as well as College Advisory Council fundraising.Organizes materials and maintains agenda for weekly dean meetings.Has a moderate/solid understanding of fundraising operations for a school or department of the University. Identifies budget requirements and staffing needs on a project or event basis.Has a moderate/high level of authority in drafting informational and marketing materials for review for assigned programs. Assists in developing support materials for specific fundraising activities.Plans somewhat complex activities of volunteer and support groups. Recruits members and provides guidance and support to leadership activities.Perform other related work as needed.Preferred QualificationsEducation:Bachelor's or advanced degree.Experience:A minimum of two years of professional work experience in nonprofit management, development, alumni relations, marketing, public relations, sales or similar professional work experience.Event, meeting, conference planning or similar professional work experience.Project management experience.Technical Knowledge or Skills:Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the technology tools available to the Office of Alumni Relations and Development, including the Phoenix constituent management database, Microsoft Windows computer environment, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Manage and interpret data in Excel.Preferred Competencies:Strong interpersonal and communications skills characterized by the ability to listen, speak, and write effectively.Manage confidential information with discretion and tact.Work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting.Self-motivated and take initiative.Prioritize multiple projects and independently follow through with detail.Working Conditions:This position has a hybrid work schedule which includes weekly in-office presence.Standard office environment.Travel to campus and/or non-campus locations for University business.Work evenings and weekends as needed.This position is located in Hyde Park at 5235 South Harper Court.Application Documents:Resume/CV (required)Cover Letter (preferred)
