Posted on Jun 6, 2024 and will remain open until filled.The purpose of this position is to direct and manage the operation of the Finance Department, to process and monitor daily accounting functions for the Village, to direct all financial aspects of budget preparation and implementation, along with tax levy reporting and annual audits.The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned:Directs and manages the operations of the Finance DepartmentDirects and participates in the preparation of the annual budget, and tax levyCoordinates the annual financial audit for the Village, oversees the implementation of recommendations made by the auditors.Provides assistance to the Village Administrator and Village Board of TrusteesMonitors revenue and expenditure trends in the operating and capital improvement budgets; monitors the Village's financial condition.Directs the preparation of financial reports as required by law; prepares financial reports and analyses requested by Village Administrator and Board of Trustees.Provides financial reports and assistance to Village Departments.Supervises and directs the work of Finance Department employees.Provides staff support to the Police Pension BoardAttends Village Board meetings and other meetings as required.Assists in tracking and monitoring investment accounts.Prepares routine correspondence and filing of all required documents.Performs other village financial related functions as assigned or as required.Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, finance, public or business administration from an accredited four-year college or university and at least three (3) years of practical government experience in accounting, budgeting, and municipal auditing, or the equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above-noted knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform in the position of Finance Director.The annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000, depending on qualifications. The Village also offers medical, dental, vision insurance, wellness program, IMRF, vacation leave, paid holidays and personal time, sick leave, and basic life insurance. Residency is not required. This is a full-time position.Location
