apply today!What You'll DoReporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant provides accounting services to YWCA. This position will also provide support to other accounting needs of the YWCA.This position has a social justice component that will require critical thinking around how the external systems impact the work that we are doing through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. Knowing the core principles of antiracism work and grounding those principles in everyday work, as well as working well in non-white environments and championing anti-racism policy, are required job skills and core values. Reviews A/P payment processing and vendor maintenanceProvide backup for A/P, A/R and G/L batch entries and month-end reportingAssists in month end closing processPrepares or reviews monthly bank and other account reconciliationsSupport for construction projects and other fixed asset additionsMaintain prepaid asset scheduleReview Monthly State of Washington B&O tax returnAssist with Special Entity Accounting (Tax Credit Entities), including but not limited to:Prepare or review monthly journal entriesReview monthly journal entries that Housing team preparesReview monthly account reconciliations, including resolution of any variancesReview fixed assetsAssist with monthly reporting to managers & directorsSupport the annual tax credit entity auditsMaintenance of tax credit entity financial reportsPrepare and maintain direct and indirect cost allocation schedulesSupport to Controller and CFO for accounting inquiries and analysisProvide assistance for grant compliance, including assistance in the preparation of the annual Statement of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA)Assist with preparation of Agency’s annual audit and Form 990 reportingPerform special projects and other duties as assigned or necessaryMust have's to be successful:

BA in Accounting or related field, or a combination of experience and education in related fieldMinimum of three years of work experience, preferably with a nonprofit organizationAccounting experience with a focus on complex spreadsheet tasks using all aspects of Microsoft Excel including functions, charts, pivot tables and large workbooks with complex calculations and formulas (i.e., nested IF statements, INDEX MATCH, VLOOKUP, etc.)And

Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Strong oral and written communication skillsStrong analytical ability, including the ability to analyze, compare, and interpret data quickly and effectivelyExcellent attention to detail, strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlinesDemonstrated expertise Microsoft Office, and SharePointCommitment to ensuring financial integrity, and ability to handle highly confidential information with discretionHours, Rate, and Benefits

Salary Rate: $68,000 - $75,000, DOEHours: 40 hours per weekExcellent benefits package including medical insurance, retirement plan, plus generous vacation, holiday, and sick leave plansAt the time of hire, employees may enroll voluntarily in the Fidelity 403b PlanAfter two years of employment, employees are eligible to participate in the YWCA Retirement FundPhysical Requirements
