Senior Quality Engineer - Automotive Industry (Supply Chain Focus)

Job Summary:Czinger Vehicles is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of quality in our internal processes and throughout our supply chain, including collaboration with our sister company, Divergent, which specializes in disruptive 3D printing technology for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quality management systems, supply chain quality assurance, and a deep understanding of automotive industry standards and advanced manufacturing technologies. Familiarity with creating dashboards in SQL, using Jira, and other data gathering software is essential to drive sound decision-making.Key Responsibilities:Quality Management Systems:

Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality management systems (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant standards.Conduct regular audits of QMS processes and procedures to ensure compliance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.Lead the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.

Supplier Quality Management:

Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain stringent quality standards for raw materials and components.Conduct thorough supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality requirements.Develop and monitor supplier performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality and reliability.

Collaboration with Divergent:

Manage quality issues arising from Divergent’s 3D printing technology, ensuring seamless integration of their components into our manufacturing processes.Work closely with Divergent's quality team to align quality standards, procedures, and best practices.Conduct joint problem-solving and root cause analysis sessions to address quality issues related to 3D printed components.

Internal Quality Assurance:

Oversee quality control processes within the manufacturing environment, ensuring product conformity and adherence to quality standards.Implement and monitor in-process inspection and testing protocols, utilizing advanced quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, MSA, and APQP.Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for internal quality issues, driving continuous improvement efforts.

Data Management and Analysis:

Create and maintain dashboards in SQL to track quality metrics and performance indicators.Utilize Jira and other software tools to gather and analyze data, driving informed decision-making.Prepare detailed reports on quality performance, including non-conformities, audit findings, and corrective actions.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quality activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Training and Development:

Provide training and guidance to internal teams on quality standards, procedures, and best practices, fostering a culture of quality awareness.Promote continuous improvement initiatives and drive quality-focused projects within the organization.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless integration of quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.Participate in new product development and launch activities, ensuring quality considerations are integrated from the design phase.Act as a liaison between Czinger Vehicles, suppliers, and external regulatory bodies regarding quality matters.

Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., ASQ CQE, Six Sigma Black Belt) is a plus.Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality engineering within the automotive industry, with a strong focus on supply chain quality management and advanced manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing.Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other relevant quality standards.Proficient in quality tools and methodologies such as FMEA, SPC, PPAP, MSA, and APQP.Familiarity with automotive industry regulations and advanced manufacturing technologies, particularly 3D printing.

Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in SQL for creating dashboards and tracking quality metrics.Experience with Jira and other software tools for data gathering and analysis.Proficient in using quality management software and tools.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.

Work Environment:Office and manufacturing floor environment.Occasional travel to supplier sites, Divergent locations, and other company facilities as required.Salary:
