Job Description:

Materials manager to work in building materials wholesale environment to oversee all the activities in the organization related to ordering, receiving, storing and distributing materials, equipment, supplies and products

  • Candidate must be able to occasionally travel to any of our 7 locations
  • Review inventory management process for suspected gaps in internal control procedures.
  • Manage process for return of damaged materials, returns, & warranty claims.
  • Reviews the Material Planner Workbench/MRP for future requirements and plans accordingly to prevent shortages.
  • Monitors and follows up on all purchase orders issued to ensure compliance with quantity, specification, quality, delivery, and pricing
  • Manage various supplier relationships to ensure the company is receiving needs and pricing commensurate with demand
  • Collaborate with customers and sister company to stream line supply chain

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies
  • Experience conducting tracking and data analysis
  • Product and inventory management certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of word processor, database and spreadsheet software.
