Pokagon Band Gaming Commission

is searching for an

Executive Director

for their

Gaming Commission

in

New Buffalo, MI.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, criminal justice, accounting or other related fields from an accredited institution whose program of study has been recognized by the Council for Higher Education.

At least five (5) years’ experience at a senior management level in Gaming regulation, compliance, or audit, particularly class II and class III gaming.

Ability to establish and maintain eligibility to serve as Executive Director under the qualifications provided in Section 3.07 of the Band’s Gaming Regulatory Act.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 1 License under Chapter VII of the Pokagon Band’s Gaming Regulatory Act.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for human resources and personnel matters, providing overall direction, coordination, evaluation, coaching, and development of Gaming Commission staff.

Assist in enforcing Gaming Commission orders and decisions.

Develop and maintain a suitable records management and retention system and ensure that confidential records are maintained and protected from unauthorized release.

Ensure that all Commission investigations are conducted efficiently and professionally.

Ensure compliance with the Compacts, the Band’s Gaming Regulatory Acts, and the regulations promulgated thereunder.

Weekly travel to all four casino properties is required.

Manage and supervise the Licensing and Investigation Division, Compliance and Enforcement Division, and Internal Audit Division of the Gaming Commission.

Negotiate and enter into contracts for the acquisition of goods and services following the appropriate Tribal Government purchasing processes.

Report to the Commission on a regularly scheduled basis regarding the status of Gaming Commission activities.

Review complaints or concerns expressed by casino management.

Review monthly operations, assess performance against budget, and implement corrective action if necessary.

Maintain efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the Gaming Commission.

About the Organization:

The Pokagon Band Gaming Commission is the independent Tribal government subdivision empowered by the Pokagon Band Tribal Council with the sole authority and responsibility to regulate gaming within the jurisdiction of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. The Gaming Commission regulates Gaming Operations, Gaming Establishments, Management Contractors, and licenses Gaming Establishments, Gaming Suppliers, Gaming Employees, and all other Persons subject to the Gaming Commission’s licensing authority pursuant to Gaming Regulatory Act.
