Associate Director, Commercial Finance

The Associate Director, Commercial Finance is a key member of the Finance organization that directly supports our commercial organization. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Senior Director, this role works closely across multiple departments and functions. The Associate Director, Commercial Finance will support the Commercial Finance team in revenue and operating expense-related forecasting and accounting.Responsibilities:Revenue Related Planning, Accounting and Decision Support:
Maintain gross-to-net sales revenue recognition models including gross to net calculations in support of quarterly budgets/forecasts, long range plans and contracting strategies.Lead monthly close process for commercial products and related analysis of period unit sales, payer reimbursement mixes and the impact of contracts and statutory rebates on gross to net deductions.Present to Finance Leadership over monthly and quarterly revenue results.Assist Commercial Finance Senior Director in managing customer relationships, 3rd Party Logistics vendor, and administration of trade, commercial and government rebate programs.Manage Senior Revenue Accountant(s), including overseeing execution of journal entries, review of account reconciliations, SEC footnotes, and other complex analyses.Management of Commercial Operational Expenses:
Partner with Commercial departments to forecast spend on a quarterly basis and develop reporting, predictive analytics, and actionable insights.Lead annual Budget and quarterly Forecasts with commercial departments including aggregating costs and uploading into financial planning and analysis application.Manage monthly close activities, including general ledger accounting, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.Support contract review and full procure to pay cycle for commercial agreements.Assist accounts payable and procurement with commercial vendor management.Provide executive summaries to Commercial leadership related to spend.Manage Financial Analyst(s), or equivalent, to support the commercial business in the creation of purchase requisitions, invoice management, and vendor support.Other Areas:
Maintain compliance with SOX requirements as well as US GAAP and Company policies.Prepare and review schedules in support of the quarterly and annual financial statements and assist team with external auditor requests.Other ad-hoc research, data analysis, department financial planning or LRP projects as defined by the Commercial Finance Senior Director.Supervisory Responsibilities:Provide management and leadership over Finance staff in an effective manner consistent with corporate goals.Knowledge & Other Qualifications:Bachelor's in accounting and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.8+ years minimum relevant work experience with a public company, or equivalent public accounting experience (Big 4) required.Prior life sciences public company experience preferred.Able to extract pertinent data from ERP system or other sources to support above duties, comfortable working with large data sets.Demonstrated advanced Excel financial modeling, revenue reporting, pricing decision support and analysis, and product launch support.Passionate about business excellence and continuous improvement in processes.Strong communication skills (written and oral) and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across functions.Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.Confidentiality and Integrity - must be able to represent and model integrity within the organization. Must possess and maintain the highest degree of security and confidentiality of information.Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel required.Other Characteristics:Ability to work independently and as part of a team and maintain high ethical standards of integrity and quality.Ability of having an innovative and dynamic approach to work.A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.Ability to consistently exhibit Supernus Values in interactions with employees at all levels of the organization, vendors, customers and others.Capable of performing other duties as assigned by Management.Authorized to legally work in the United States without visa sponsorship.Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:Sedentary work.
