The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah seeks applicants for a tenure-line position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The ideal candidate will be involved in state-of-the-art mechanistic and/or translational research focused on neuropsychiatric, neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative, behavioral, and/or substance use disorders. Exceptional candidates in other areas of Pharmacology or Toxicology may also be considered. The applicant's research is expected to complement and expand existing departmental research expertise in genetics/genomics, personalized medicine, analytical sciences, proteomics, drug discovery and development, and mechanistic and translational pharmacology and toxicology. Applicants will be expected to have an established and sustainable extramurally funded research program and will be expected to teach in the College of Pharmacy PharmD and associated PhD programs.

The University of Utah, a Carnegie R1 research intensive university and member of the American Association of Universities, is ideally suited to support cutting-edge research at the basic and translational levels, with a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere that is nestled in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains. The College of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is situated in a major academic Health Sciences Campus that is integrated with the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, including the Huntsman Mental Health Institute and Intermountain Healthcare Primary Children's Hospital, thus facilitating research involving human cohorts. The University of Utah Health campus also has a variety of research core facilities and unique curated genetic databases to support multi-disciplinary research efforts, as well as interdisciplinary research initiatives including: Diabetes and Metabolism; Immunology, Inflammation, and Infectious Disease; the Microbiota and Gastrointestinal Immunology Consortium; Genomic Medicine; and the Center for Medical Cannabis Research. The College of Pharmacy also has Special Interest Research Groups in Drug Development and Screening Technologies, and Neurological and Psychiatric Diseases.
