Patent Agent/Technology Specialist

A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a highly skilled Patent Agent / Technology Specialist with 2-3 years of experience to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in wireless engineering, electrical and computer engineering, or related fields and have substantial experience in patent prosecution. The role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to manage complex patent matters effectively.Duties
Draft and prosecute patent applications in wireless, electrical, and computer engineering and related technologies.Conduct prior art searches and analyze patent portfolios to assess patentability and operating freedom.Prepare and file patent applications, responses to office actions, and other necessary documentation with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Collaborate with inventors and clients to gather technical information and provide strategic advice on patent protection.Manage patent prosecution timelines and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and deadlines.Review and analyze patent landscapes to support client business strategies and technology developments.Stay current with technological advancements and changes in patent law to provide informed recommendations and guidance.Requirements
2-3 years of experience in patent prosecution.Strong background in wireless, electrical, and computer engineering or related fields.At least 3 years of experience in patent prosecution.Experience with cellular networking technologies is strongly preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong academic credentials.Education
Master’s degree (M.S. or M.Eng.) in a relevant field (e.g., wireless engineering, electrical and computer engineering) or equivalent industry experience is preferred.Skills
