IQGeo is seeking a Product Owner as an integral part of the IQGeo Services Team supporting the implementation of IQGeo’s Web and Mobile Mapping Software for domestic and international enterprise customers. The Product Owner will play a crucial role in ensuring successful planning and execution of projects with significant scope and complexity for our customers in the Telecommunications markets. You will work closely with various stakeholders, understanding needs and translating them into business and technical requirements. This role is about translating your passion for telecommunications and geospatial software, incorporating your love for technology, problem-solving and your desire to grow a business altogether into a role that requires you to wear many hats all while utilizing Agile and SCRUM methodologies. Responsibilities
Manage communication and collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, goals, and deliverables and translate to product/solution requirements to reach definition of ready. Being consultative to customers based on current operational processes and their fit with IQGeo products. Create user stories for development backlogs with acceptance criteria based on requirements provided by the customer. Manage development backlog and prioritize based on changing requirements and address any gaps/unknowns. Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery. Author and deliver comprehensive documentation including business requirement documents, use cases and process flows. Help create roadmap for the development efforts to implement the solution for the customer. Develop strong, trusted-advisor relationships within the customer’s project team. Arbiter and advocate of solution acceptance. Acts as the bridge between Product Engineering and Services Development teams to communicate/share information to deploying IQGeo products and features. Attend SCRUM ceremonies as required. Facilitate customer demonstrations to describe and show business value. Understand complex software, system and platform technology and use cases. Work with IQGeo product managers to understand the product vision and provide feedback to the product management group on customer requirements and use cases for future consideration in the overall roadmap. Ability to occasionally travel (less than 20%). Perform other related duties, as assigned. Person Specification
Excellent domain knowledge of telecommunications networks, in particular network planning, construction, and maintenance programs. Experience working with web mapping software and/or geographical information systems. Excellent knowledge of user-centered design principles. In-depth knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology in an enterprise environment. Experience with creating requirements documents and other such written project artifacts pertaining to the job role. Demonstrated ability to influence and lead, large, complex projects from concept to delivery and continuous improvement. Ability to deal with ambiguity and needs little to no guidance. Experience with collaboration and issue tracking tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and road mapping tools. US citizenship or permanent residency required. Experience working with SaaS Products. Certified Scrum Product Owner or Certified Scrum Master Certification. Experience of delivering ‘tier 1’ large customer projects. Software Development background. UI/UX experience and or Certification. Previous experience within an agile software development environment, preferably web-based and customer facing. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Education and Experience
3+ years’ experience as a product owner, business analyst, telecoms/geospatial SME consultant or requirements engineer. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited university in Geomatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years of software technology and industry experience.
