Senior Software Engineer

Consistently delivers solid quality in both design and implementation and helps the team shape what is built how, in particular:Develops quality software (including effective test code) according to clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards.Provides input for the prioritization of issues in the backlog and autonomously pulls issues or supports other team members as appropriate.Participates in team activities such as backlog grooming, planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.Translates business requirements to user stories and actively seeks feedback from the stakeholders.Takes the lead in designs of individual stories and translates the design to subtasks.Considers aspects of information security while coding and reviewing other's code.Keeps up to date with technology and researches latest trends in the industry.Is perceived as the expert in a small area and is the go-to person for related implementational and operational issues.Additions for service-delivering teams
Produces actionable user stories to relieve operational pain.Plans and performs more complex changes and manages stakeholder expectations.Independently resolves incidents, drives associated post-mortem analyses, and ensures outcome is actionable for the team.Strives to replace service requests with self-service functionality and automation.Understands cost structure of delivered services and makes cost data transparent to users.Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Actively provides feedback during code reviews.Onboards new members to the team and helps develop junior engineers.Understands functional and technical requirements of software components.Participates in team hiring activities.Feeds larger refactoring opportunities into the team's backlog.Evolves the team’s continuous integration pipeline and fixes broken builds.Performs benchmark analyses, identifies hot spots, and derives appropriate measures to improve performance.Demonstrates problem solving and innovation ability.Acts according to company and team visions and requires user stories to adhere to those visions.Has a deep understanding of their team’s problem domain.Clearly understands and communicates the impact of changes in the team’s deliverables on other teams and customers.Timely and proactively communicates impediments to commitments and helps others to overcome theirs.Scope:Core responsibilities include assisting and contributing to Architecture and design (along with counterparts and distinguished Architects).The team currently comprises of global associates across US, India (COE), Mexico, Germany and is expected to grow rapidly. The incumbent will need to have leadership qualities to also mentor junior and mid-level software associates in our team.Our current technical environment:Frameworks/Others : Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, Linux.What you will do:Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of applications and services.Develop high-quality devops code for implementing various components of cloud-based applications, including APIs, microservices, and automation scripts.Build automated regression tests.Utilize Terraform, Ansible, Groovy for defining and provisioning infrastructure resources in a declarative manner, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environments.Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and other relevant tools to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.Collaborate within the team to review code quality standards using tools like Codacy, conduct code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to improve overall codebase quality.Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and other scripting languages to streamline operational tasks and improve efficiency.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.What we are looking for:Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 10 years of experience in Software development; ideally a candidate that has started as a Software Engineer and progressed to Sr. Software Engineer.10+ years of software engineering experience building production software.5+ years of experience working in at least one cloud environment, such as Azure or other public Cloud experience.Demonstrable experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining enterprise cloud solutions (we use Azure) in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.2+ years of Python programming experience with exceptional understanding of Object-Oriented Design & Patterns.Working knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, subnets, load balancers, firewalls), Azure, and Terraform.Working knowledge of Application gateway, Azure Firewall, Azure Traffic Manager.Expertise in Bash, Groovy, or Java.Proficient in GitHub Actions, or other continuous integration software.Understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.Working knowledge of quality tooling and automation frameworks.Excellent collaborator with a go-get attitude.Effective communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.Firsthand development skills along with architecture/design experience; should not have moved away from software development.Demonstrable experience, thorough knowledge, and interests in Cloud native architecture, Distributed micro-services, Multi-tenant SaaS solution, and Cloud Scalability, performance, and High availability.
